Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as the only source of our beliefs. We consider our movement to be the result of the Protestant conviction Sola Scriptura—the Bible as the only standard of faith and practice for Christians.
What we Believe…
We believe…
That the Bible is the inspired Word of God. (2 Tim. 3:16)
Immortal, all-powerful and all-loving, God is a relationship of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; Rev. 14:7.)
In a personal God. (Heb. 1:1-3)
In Jesus Christ as the Divine Son of God and our Savior. (John 1:1-3, 14, Heb. 7:25)
In the Holy Spirit, the Divine Comforter. (John 15:26)
We believe…
God is Creator of all things, and has revealed in Scripture the authentic account of His creative activity. (Gen. 1; 2;Ps. 19:1-6; Heb. 11:3)
Once molded in God’s image, now fractured by sin, it took a perfect Savior to reconcile us. The Spirit restores God’s reflection within us so God can work through us. (Gen. 1:26-28: Acts 17:24-28; Ps. 51:5; Rom. 5:12-17)
We believe…
God sent Jesus, His Son, to live the perfect life we could not and die the death our sins deserve. When we accept Jesus’ sacrifice, we claim eternal life.  (John 3:16; Isa. 53; 1 Peter 2:21, 22; 1 Cor. 15:3)
That we become righteous by faith through grace. (Rom. 4:1-3, 2 Cor. 5:17-21; Gal. 1:4; 4:4-7: Titus 3:3-7)
Salvation transforms how we see our world. We no longer fear our past or future, but embrace a present full of hope, love, passion and praise as the Spirit lives in us. (Ps. 1:1; Phil 3:7-14)
We believe…
The church is God’s family on Earth, serving, celebrating, studying and worshiping together. The church is called to take the good news of salvation to all. (Gen. 12:3; Acts 7:38; Eph. 4:11-15; Matt. 28:19)
That the second coming of Christ is very near. That it will be literal, personal, and visible to all. (John 14:1-3; Acts 1:11; Matt. 24:30)
In baptism by immersion. (Mark 1:9,10; Rom. 6:1-6)
In the ordinance of humility and the Lord's Supper. (John 13:4-17; 1 Cor. 11:23-26)
In the gifts of the spirit, including the gift of prophecy. (Eph. 4:8,11; Rev.12: 17; Rev. 19:10)
We believe…
The Ten Commandments reveal God’s will and love for us. Its guidelines tell how to relate to God and others. Jesus lived out the law as both our example and perfect substitute. (Rom 8:3; Ps.19:7-14; Ex. 20:3-17)
The Sabbath is God’s gift to us, a time for rest and restoration of our connection to God and others. It reminds us of God’s creation and Jesus’ grace. (Gen. 2:2-3; Ex. 20:8-10)
In the support of the gospel through tithes and offerings. (Lev. 27:30,32; Mal. 3:8-11; Matt.23: 23)
Through the Holy Spirit we glorify God in our minds, bodies and spirits. (Rom. 12:1; Eph. 5:1-21; Phil. 4:8)
We believe…
In the promised return of Jesus, when He will resurrect His saved children and take them to heaven. (Titus 2:13; Heb. 9:28;Matt. 24:14; Rev. 1:7)
That there will be a resurrection of the dead. (1 Thess. 4:16, 17)
That the dead know nothing. (Ecc. 9:5, John 11:11-14)
That the wicked will not burn eternally, but will be burned up. (Mal. 4:1-3)
God will recreate our once-stained world, and live with us forever. We will finally achieve our true potential, living in the love and joy for which God created us.  (2 Peter 3:13; Isa. 35; 65:17-25; Matt. 5:5; Rev. 21:1-7)
